Spirit: Sasha is loveable and active, and is used to being around all members of the family. She’ll play to her heart’s content with a ball, plush toys and other doggy friends.  As with most white boxers, Sasha is deaf.

Spirit: Here are a couple of hysterical excerpts from the foster family who had him until his recent trip up from North Carolina:

“He knows all of the basic commands and obeys the majority of the time! For instance, he knows he must sit to get his treats, but he will wait to see if you know!”

“He really likes his squeaky toys, even though his immediate goal is to remove the ’squeaky’ and discard it.”

“Tenderfoot is an extremely loving and very smart guy. He’s also very strong and determined. He can easily jump a four-foot fence, although he doesn’t try to run off. He just ‘does his business’ on the other side and jumps back in.”

“He loves to sleep in the bed, talks in his sleep and prefers to snuggle vs. sleep at the foot of the bed. Either with one of the other dogs or me – he’s not particular.”

Name: Nanook

Breed: Siberian Husky

Age: 5 years

Spirit: Nanook is affectionate and playful, and he definitely loves human companionship. He’s in great shape and has a gorgeous gait as he walks or runs along in open space. Bring this handsome fella home and you’ll have his chin resting in your lap on day #1!

Many of these things tend to be tall tales to pull at your heart strings and perhaps even swindle you out of some money, but this is not one of those things. Please read the note sent to me by a dear friend below:

This is very real and very true.  The guy has an appt scheduled for next week – if he can’t find a home for her by end of the day on Tuesday (May 12) – he’s going to put her down — all because his male dogs don’t like her… but apparently SHE gets along well with other dogs, is trained, wonderful and she is absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!!  And she’s only 5.

The dog is in Massachusetts and I can certainly help in picking up/delivering if need be… let’s save this gorgeous girl!  Pictures are attached.  If I didn’t have 4 already, I’d take her.  I’m copying some of my way out of state dog loving friends too… just in case you know of anyone!

Very friendly, gets along will with the male dogs in our house (not so well with females)
Don’t know about children but her disposition is generally extroverted so she’s been good with whomever has visited the house.
Behaves rather well (heel, sit stay, etc…)

Breed: American Staffordshire Mix

Age: 1 1/2 years

Town: Eastham

Favorite Cape Spot: Watching the bird at the feeders in her own back yard

Family Role: Brandi is a good-natured girl and lover of squeeky things. Her owner missed her so much that she just re-adopted her soon after bringing her to the shelter due to a sudden and severe change in allergic reaction to the dog. Now she’s back to her pampered life at home in mom’s bed!
